Frequently asked questions

How many hours do I need to become a CNA?

Federal law requires at least 75 hours of training, including at least 16 hours of supervised practical training (42 CFR 483.152). Many states require more; California requires 160 hours (CDPH).

Can I take the exam in another language?

It depends on the state and the testing provider. Ask your state nurse aide registry before paying for a course.

Can I train as a CNA without work authorization?

You can study, but you need legal authorization to work in the U.S. to be hired. A CNA certificate is not a visa.
